Purpose:
Committees of jurisdiction in the House are completing
work on Medicare proposals to be introduced this week. The bills are expected to include both prescription drug benefits for seniors and some aspects of reform to strengthen and improve the
Medicare program.
This briefing will present an overview and discussion on
details of the Medicare bills developed by the House Ways & Means and Energy & Commerce Committees as well as a response from Democratic Committee staff.
Attendees will be invited to question the speakers after the presentations.
